Dignity by default
No poverty lane and no donor/recipient caste. People can need help and still have something to offer.
About Sanctuary
Sanctuary connects practical services, reuse, local capacity, projects, support, learning and resilience so everyday participation becomes easier — not more complicated.
No poverty lane and no donor/recipient caste. People can need help and still have something to offer.
Start with real Gateshead needs, places, services, routes and opportunities people can actually use.
Build infrastructure that makes daily life easier instead of features that only look good in a pitch.
Do not invent activity, capacity or impact. Show what is real, what is pilot-stage and what is still being built.
What Sanctuary is
Sanctuary Community Depot is being piloted in Gateshead. It brings together practical local services, Marketplace and reuse, collection and delivery, memberships, Credits, projects, local capacity and community information in one connected system.
What Sanctuary is not
It is not a general waste service, a faceless gig marketplace, or a promise that every future feature already exists. Public pages should clearly separate live capability from pilot-stage work and future plans.
One system, many routes

Teams Hub on Rose Street, Teams, Gateshead is the first verified physical community anchor in Sanctuary's live Town Square data. The model is local-first, but designed so the participation infrastructure can work elsewhere too.
