SANCTUARY READY · KNOWLEDGE VAULT V3

A library that still works offline.

Survival guidance is only the first layer. Sanctuary can preserve a compact copy of the knowledge people rely on: encyclopedia, history, medicine, science, repair, education, maps, language and culture — without turning this page into a wall of files.

Built for real drives

Sanctuary stores its own manuals and manifests in the repo. Giant knowledge archives stay at their official source and are resolved when a USB, SSD or Node is prepared.

  • Current Kiwix catalogue resolution
  • Actual remote file-size checks
  • Capacity budget and free-space reserve
  • Torrent/direct download options
  • Checksums and archive dates

Commercial packs stay rights-clean

Not every useful offline source can legally be placed on a paid Sanctuary USB. V3 separates commercially redistributable/open material from non-commercial or rights-review collections.

  • Wikimedia/open archives retain attribution and licence metadata
  • iFixit, OpenStax and PhET are flagged non-commercial
  • Project Gutenberg receives a UK rights-review warning
  • Kolibri channels are checked resource-by-resource
  • Community-only Nodes can have a different content profile from paid media

Human history stays deep

The history layer combines a chronology/index with encyclopedia context and primary-source material, rather than presenting one Sanctuary-written story as the only account.

  • Prehistory to contemporary history
  • Africa, Asia, Europe, Americas and Oceania
  • Migration, trade, technology, religion and law
  • Conflict, empire, colonialism and decolonisation
  • Wikisource primary documents beside summaries

Keep the website simple. Keep the vault deep.

The public page stays curated. Detailed archive names, licensing, versions, checksums, source queries and storage calculations live in the Advanced Catalogue and machine-readable manifests.

Offline archives are snapshots, not live intelligence. Current emergency, medical, legal, conflict and travel instructions take precedence. Sanctuary does not proxy giant third-party archives through Vercel.
